Mutula Kilonzo Jr. is a Kenyan politician currently serving as the Governor of Makueni County, Kenya. He is a member and vice chair of the Wiper Democratic Movement, Kenya, and was elected as the second Senator of Makueni County Government on the WDM-K ticket in a by-election in July 2013, after the demise of his father lawyer Mutula Kilonzo and is currently serving his second term since his election in August 2017. He was elected as the second Governor of Makueni County in the August 2022 elections and he is now the current governor of Makueni County, having been sworn into office on 25th August 2022.

Accident
A car belonging to Makueni governor Mutula Kilonzo Junior had been involved in an accident before his swearing-in ceremony. The accident occurred along Machakos- Wote Road near Wote Town at around 10.30 am. Sources disclosed that three people escaped unhurt.
Regardless, he was not among the occupants of the Toyota Land Cruiser V8 when the accident happened. Kilonzo used a different car to get to the venue of the swearing-in event. It’s said the vehicle lost control before landing in a ditch.
