After reviewing deejaying, DJ Mo was deliberate concerning wanting to become a professional DJ. He rose to stardom in 2009 after contesting in the Pilsner Mfalme DJ Competition where he became a finalist. Companies began identifying him and calling him for paid gigs. They reportedly purchased the land for Sh8 million. However, the initial price was Sh4.5 million, but the couple slowed purchasing after failing to arrive at a common consensus on where they should build their home. Mo had complained that the land was sitting in a bushy area.
